Kyoshi Stolsmark has been actively training in the martial arts for over 40 years. He has been a full time karate instructor since 1983. Called the “instructor of instructors”, he has an insightful and precise teaching style rarely seen in martial arts training. Many of his students include qualified martial artists and karate studio owners. He inspires both young and old and his enthusiasm in contagious.
In his search for knowledge, he has traveled extensively in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, Japan, South Africa and Okinawa. He has had the good fortune to be exposed to many karate styles and master instructors. 
He is one of 8 people outside of Okinawa to represent 10th dan Shorinkan Grandmaster Shugoro Nakazato as a Kyoshi 8th Dan of karate-do. As 9th dan in Okinawa Kobudo, Sensei is the president of the Okinawa Kobudo Doushi Rensei-kai and has been appointed successor of Yoshiaki Gakiya Sensei
He has owned and operated the Waukesha dojo for 29 years and the Watertown dojo for 25 years. During this time, he has promoted over 175 students to black belt level including:
- 7th Dans Tom Woldridge, Ed Foster, Rocky Stolsmark, Dave Long, Gina Moslavac, Jim Walker and Michael Newland
- 6th dans John Reuland, Greg Llanas, Dave Nadolny, Jaysen Wolf, Bill Martin, Kevin Martin
- More than a dozen students with the rank of 5th Dan
